~Happy Thaipusam to all my fellow Indian friends. Today has to be a very important day in the eyes of all Hindus, who celebrate this holy event by making their way to Batu Caves.

And it ought to be an auspicious day for me and my family too..

As my cousin would be tying the knot tomorrow, my family and I were invited to her house for a dinner. This was no ordinary dinner. It is a tradition for the bride and the bridegroom to celebrate their would-be marriage by hosting a dinner with their respective relatives the night before the wedding.

Below are some of the photos taken. Sry to say that there are only a few.

Diary 290110

More than a month since the departure of SPM 09, I'm sitting for another exam yet again. As far as I know, everyone hates exam. Don't u?

Anyway, it was a relatively small-scaled exam, popularly known as a topical test. This time it was pure maths exam. Still, I was nervous. I mean this was the 1st time I'm sitting for a test in COLLEGE, not SCHOOL. <<< note this

So the feeling was far more different. Yet there wasn't any pressure to score high marks, as it was just a short practice to determine whether I have really mastered the topics which included Functions, Circular Measures, Quadratics and Coordinate Geometry. Piece of cake la, these topics should be at my fingertips for a former Form 5 student.

The entire test lasted for 1 hr and 15 mins, and students were supposed to answer 6 questions completely. U seriously don't need to use all 75 mins to finish the questions.. And so I did them in the slowest pace I could manage, making full use of the time alotted.

Emerged as a relieved man. ^^

And there was this Orientation event for all A-Level students in the afternoon. The ALSCO (A-Level student council) members have sacrificed their time to come up with cool activities to let all A-level students enjoy and bask in, so I don't find the need to skip this event.

But u see, it was scheduled to start at 2.30pm, a time when most of the S3 students would have already enjoying themselves to a movie treat or taking forty winks. FYI, their class ends at 11.30am so it was understandable that they would boycott this event given that they won't be so stupid to waste their ( 2.30-11.30 )= 3 hours doing nothing.! @.@

Still, I'm utterly disappointed with my classmates.. -.- Only 4/20 students were willing to spend their next 150 mins participating in the station games.

And the saddest part was that: I'm the ONLY ONE present in a group of 7 or 8. T_T So embarrassing! And of course, demoralising. I was placed in Group 5 and was to be the only member of Group 5, coming up against teams with 10 members.

The only way was to join other groups, which I did. I'm glad that I got the chance to mingle with students from different classes, at least making new friends is something I cherish!

After a gruelling 2 and 1/2 hours, rest was granted. I was physically tired as I was the ineffective striker during a friendly game of fussball. Should be proud for scoring a goal for my team. But still lost 4-2 to Group 8 in the end.

Squandered many wonderful chances but heyy.. u can't blame me coz Im really a `kaki bangku', despite the fact that I'm an ardent football fan.

Took bus home from college for the 1st time.

Walao.. The bus was packed like sardine in can.. Had to stand for nearly 30 mins on the bus.. But I digress. I have already expected this scenario since it was peak time when everyone was rushing home.

Enough said, that was my the busiest day of college life so far.

More photos coming your way ^^

Bad news + Good news

Hey everyone, Im sincerely apologising for not updating my blog for more than 10 days. Blame me not... as I am really really busy!!

For the past few days, shocking news have been hogging the headlines. With the most notable one being

1. the powerful earthquake that struck Haiti, a small country on the East of US. The aftermath is heart-wrenching. About 200,000 or more innocent lives were lost in this catastrophic disaster. Yes, another disaster has threatened to wipe out human.. 6 years after the terrifying tsunami that battered Asian populations.

Amazingly after 12 days, there are still a few really really lucky survivors being pulled out from the rubble.. it is truly unbelievable.. How to survive without food for more than a week??!! Of course, these cases are exceptionally rare, but they do happen. As proven.. Anyhow, one lesson we can learn from the recent devastating earthquake is : TO NEVER GIVE UP EVEN AS DEATH AWAITS.

This is so true. yes.. u can always say that the few survivors are the luckiest lot. But dont forget, they have shown us the indomitable spirit they have, to hang on at the brink of death;to rekindle the faint ray of light to survive and certainly not to give up easily and wait for the last breath. That's the way to stay alive.

2. The dragon boat mishap in Penang

My first reaction to this unexpected event was utter sadness. Afterall, the victims are only 16 and 17, and they were shown a hasty exit to their life. I can imagine the sorrow that engulfed the bereaved family members of the deceased, who have been shell-shocked by the accident that claimed 6 lives.

A teacher was among the 6 victims who perished. One can only feel sad and reflect on the fate of the dragon boat members, who have never thought that their lives were to end on that fateful day.

I think the school should strongly be condemned for this calamitous mishap. In the first place, why should they select the sea as their training ground?? And there were insufficient life jackets for the dragon boat members to wear. See.. It is already a disaster waiting to be happen. It is just a matter of time before disaster strikes.. and it happened in a blink of an eye... As the saying goes.. `malang tidak berbau'.. =(

For those who died in this tragedy, REST IN PEACE. And for the school, please show your sense of responsibility to investigate on this matter.

I'm overly saddened by such accident.. Yet another lesson to learn.

which is : not to join such clubs if you can't swim.! Simple. ==

3. A girl who died after being crushed by a television set

This particular accident happened last week when the girl was happily feasing her eyes onto the colourful and vibrant TV program from TV. And what on Earth did she do to invoke the anger of the TV?!!.. She didn't notice the wirings on the floor and she slipped. That's how the heavy TV managed to fall and tumble on her.

T_T It really is a freak accident, if u come to ur senses.

SO parents ( if any ) who are reading this, please keep an eye on your children at all times before another child being unnecessarily killed by the ubiquitous TV.

It is a crime! ==

AND NOW COMES THE GOOD NEWS

4. My beloved Manchester United is back on top of the Premier League (at least for now)

Rooney, I love u. Love u. Love u.

For your 4 goals lifted the team to the summit of the EPL after 3 months.

For displaying such succulent performance

For lifting my mood esp after the last Man U game I watch (the bitter defeat to Leeds)

For being Man Utd's leading scorer with 19 goals to boast.

For your loyalty in vowing that you would never ever leave Man Utd (hope it is true)

For being such an important playmaker who is a-ZILLION times better than the C.R (who)

5. Our home grown sports icon - DATUK LEE CHONG WEI

He is great..

He is classy..

He is elegant..

He is dexterous..

He is a top player..

He is the Korean Open champion..

He is the Malaysian Open champion for the 6th time

He is, of course my idol.

AND that makes him the WORLD'S BEST BADMINTON PLAYER. =)

Though, he shall prove his strength and ability to overcome Lin Dan, his much-feared nemesis

So Sien.. Zzz

I seriously do not know what to post about.

But one thing to highlight is that Adam's blog is awesome!!

I really like the way he writes. Short and sweet. =)

By the way, Avatar is really a red-hot movie! Yesterday while browsing through the TV channels, I saw that in China.. people are super crazy over this brand-new movie.

The 3D tickets were sold off in hours.

Looks like I should watch Avatar afterall. But time doesn't permit. U know, college life isn't a bed of roses.

More time is spent each day and my energy level is almost empty upon reaching home. xD

I got the chance to write this as my Malaysian Studies class was cancelled!

It was really sudden. It was in fact a blessing in disguise. Who would want to waste their 90 minutes by attending this class?

However, another problem is rooted. I do not know how to spend this 90 minutes. Some of my friends have a CUTE plan of visiting the 'pasar malam'. As far as I know, there is no such 'pasar malam' in Sunway. Except for the one in SS13. But, I chose to remain quiet.

I miss Form 5. Soo much. While some of my friends have the unlucky star dawned upon them to fulfill their National duties, others chose to wait for the release of SPM results. Some also opt to look for part-time jobs, while some ...

JUST SLEEP THROUGH THE WHOLE DAY.!!

As for me? I better get all the chemistry and physics formula re-injected back into my mind. Loads of new formulas beckon me.

= =

=X

In the mean time, I'm waiting for Shin Yee. She needs a lift from me. Dont get me wrong, legally I can't drive yet.

Taking driving lesson this week.

Posting from Sunway University College

Hi everyone, I just had my lunch. A simple meal of chicken rice with added rice. And I'm exercising my rights to get Internet access.

U must be wondering how on earth I can get the time to blog!!! The answer is simple:I've activated my account and that is how I can post at this hour, when I normally do not post.

Classes commenced today. Maths class was kind of boring, but I like the lecturer. He looks professional, and he is a professional. ( based on his 38-year teaching experience ). And he was explaining all about the difference between Maths and Further Maths,( a new subject in which I'm currently taking ).

He said Maths = Add Maths in F4 and F5, while Further Maths = Higher Level of Add Maths.

Hence, I won't be learning Further Maths yet, at least for the next 6 months. The policy is this : to convert all the 6 hours of learning F.Maths to learning Maths.

This is to build a strong foundation before exposing us to the much-feared Further Maths.

Kok Peng, why did u change course????

Sien la.

Class starts at 1.30pm. Another hour to endure. What should I do?

-play Dota at a nearby CC?
-continue blogging?
-open my FB account? ( which I just did ) ==

OR sleep?

Btw, ancient apparition looks COOL and STYLISH!

Full of emotions.

It's been more than 2 weeks since the last update of blog. That is because, like I said I was in Guangzhou, China.

And this winter camp turned out to be the most INTERESTING and MEMORABLE camp to date!! =)

While I'm writing this, my heart aches. Fond memories of happy days in China began to flood my mind. But still, I can control my emotions.

For 12 days, all camp participants were like a big family, all blending well with each other ( except for some ).

I'm delighted to have met many new friends. And they are not only NEW. They are GOOD and TRUSTED friends. Friends that I can click with. Friends that shared my pain and suffering. Friends that I spent time with. Just to name a few :

1. Huey Zhong
2. Fong Yen
3. Lee Xiang
4. Tze Yuen
5. Wei En
6. Hao Yuen
7. Qian Xuan
8. Shi Ming
9. And practically all 一班 students
10.马振老师
11. 余欣老师

I think I need not write too much as I'm drained after one whole morning and afternoon spent in Sunway University College. Ya, I'm now a student in Sunway College, taking A Levels. So I shall just post photos of my UNFORGETTABLE trip to 广州.

Enjoy ~ =)
