The Heart of a Butterfly

A butterfly looks joyful
Fluttering in the open air,
And bathing in the sun's warm light.
Yellow, red, and purple flowers
Bloom on the veranda
But, dear butterfly, it is always your favourite white flower
That you hower next to like a helicopter.

Enjoying the taste of the nectar for a moment
You rise away again,
Flow with the wind,
And tease the yellow and red flowers
But you always come back to the white one.

They say in the south islands that,
The departed soul comes back home,
Transferred onto a butterfly.
Maybe a tiny flower bed was enough
To put the soul at rest.

A favourite nectar and
The wings to freely fly in the air
Gave you the greatest happiness.
That is what the pleasure of being free is like.
Perhaps, a little bit of heaven
Is actually all around us.

Of EPL giants and perplexing issues

This week promises to be an eventful and piquant one as there is a hive of activity to uplift the otherwise nondescript and prosaic mood.

It begins with the arrival of English Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, a team which has been embroiled in a heated transfer saga with Barcelona over the transfer of their most illustrious and influential captain- Cesc Fabregas( A unique and sacrosanct player to Arsenal). As a steadfast Manchester United fan, the whole Fabregas issue is viewed with much chagrin as it is definitely a harbinger of disintegration of Arsenal football club. However, I do not intend to harp on the issue. On the contrary, I am more fascinated with the purported claims that Nasri is heading to Manchester. :) With the purchase of Ashley Young, David De Gea and Phil Jones, the arrival of yet another complete and versatile player would undoubtedly bolster Manchester United's arsenal.

Nevertheless, Arsenal are my second club and the truth is that I never want to see them doomed. So Sneijder is preferred over Nasri to replace Scholes at the heart of the team.

This time around Arsenal fans must be ebullient as they finally get to witness their dream team in action. I wasted no chance 2 years back when Manchester United made their way to Malaysia as part of their Asia Tour. Watching them play in front of more than 80,000 fans was a dream come true( never mind the location). I was totally rapturous and euphoric and I believe every United fan must be experiencing the same feeling.

Liverpool and Chelsea join in the fray to play Malaysia XI and the Malaysian team must be feeling intimidated by their oppositions' prowess. Sure enough, the homegrown will be thrashed by one of the teams by a huge margin! :) Now sit back and enjoy.

Football stories aside, now back to the issue that has been hogging the limelight for the past weeks..-the Bersih rally.

I am completely flummoxed by the government's actions in labelling Bersih as an illegal organisation. If Bersih could arrange an official meeting with the King, then why on Earth is the organisation illegal? Are you suggesting that the King will entertain any Tom, Dick and Harry? It makes no sense at all.

Besides, the roadblocks across the city were gratuitous, puerile and certainly uncalled for. Have you ever thought of the utmost inconvenience and great disruption to the citizens? The protest was meant to be a peaceful one, of course the police forces should be on standby mode should any untoward incidents occur but roadblocks for??

I do not wish to vent my further frustrations here as it is slightly inappropriate as I might go overboard. But seriously the roadblock plan was inane and incredulous

The way things were handled was ignominious for our country, to say the least.

Can we snap out of such immaturity?

Indignant.

The Wisdom of Leaving Space

What the writer wants to express
In a single book
Is found within the black print.
If the page was completely filled in black,
Then readers could not understand.
To get your message across
You need punctuation,
Space between lines,
And page margins.
For how could people find deep resonance
With a poem overloaded with text?

The same can be said of work.
The efforts of a tireless worker,
Is often not understood by others.
Slow down once in a while.
Consider to see if you have
The understanding, the help and the support of others.
When you overwork
Sometimes you are unaware
That people are protesting, resisting and unhappy with you.

It is important to prepare your mind
To grant yourself some space to rest
Before you collapse from exhaustion.

July Happenings

Exactly a month from this date, my fate will be sealed. My future depends entirely on the outcome of this massive  revelation. It is the day of judgement(so to speak), a red carpet day. I'm referring to the release of my A2 results on 11th Aug 2011.

Many things have happened since my last posting and I know that I am solely at fault for not updating my blog. Some events which transpired during this period:

1. Meeting up with high-school mates for the game I relish in(badminton) for at least thrice
2. Watching T3 twice and still can't get over it ( I love the background music btw..)
3. Dad bought a brand new lappie for me! :) i'm really thankful for the special gift. It's a Dell Inspiron 15R with i7 processor >.<
4. Addicted to Korean dramas (:
- Babyfaced Beauty + Secret Garden

How I miss the SBS Korean dramas since the last movie (What happened in Bali): still the best drama series!

And I'm actually busy planning a trip to Redang with my college mates. So please bear with me for a few more days before I could fully concentrate on blogging again.

I'll leave you with the lovely images from Secret Garden.

So what are you waiting for? Feast your eyes on the drama right away. The drama has an interesting plot which distinguishes it from the rest. You have my word.

Oh ya, happy birthday to my dear friend Heng Shu Peih. She has been really helpful and supportive towards me throughout the entire A-Level course by assisting and attending to my problems without reciprocation. Her maths knowledge is next to a genius and her willingness to guide me through the dark times is very much commendable.

Heng Shu Peih, you are truly a great friend. Have fun on your big day and you certainly deserve a place in my heart for being my pillar of strength.

Kudos to you, my dear friend!

One more thing: I am all pumped up for the epic Harry Potter finale. I grow up watching the series and like millions in the world, I will sorely miss the entire beguiling series once it is done and dusted. :(
