National heroes did us proud
It is a time to rejoice in as our very own Harimau Muda did the nation proud by defeating bitter arch-rival Indonesia in the just concluded 26th SEA games football final event! Now that is A very good reason to be cheerful.
Dear Datuk Seri Najib, we are waiting fervently for the declaration of a PUBLIC HOLIDAY as a tribute to the historic event. :)
Have been extremely busy with assignments and homework. There is an upcoming Maths test tomorrow -.-' Caution has to be exercised though it should not be an obstacle for a Further Maths student like me. Another funny point to note is that the test comprises of 9 MCQs, yes you are righhtt.. MCQs not subjective questions.
It's baffling to know that MCQs are still being used to gauge our knowledge at this tertiary level of education.
Nevertheless, neither am I underestimating it or taking it easy this time. I shall attempt to obtain full marks in the 45-minute exam paper, knowing very well that mistakes are costly as it is a paper that follows the negative marking method where an error garners a -1 score. =.='
Enough said, it is time to engage in some serious studying. *LOLS*
Gotta get going.
Am waiting for the public holiday to be announced. Don't disappoint me, Mr PM

Pre-DotA update
It has been a month since my last posting and I feel it is definitely time to do some justice to my blog readers so CHEER UP, there are a plethora of beguiling stories to be foretold. As I'm writing this, I'm agonizingly waiting for the much-anticipated DotA session to begin in a few hours' time. Yeah, U got it. I'm still pretty much attached to the much maligned game despised by mostly girls and some guys. Come to think of it, I could not comprehend the reason behind those gentlemen for not admiring such a MAGICALLY ENTERTAINING game. They are undoubtedly missing out on all the fun. But it is true that once you get infatuated, it takes a herculean effort to overhaul the DotA mania.
Enough said, I should get going to wage war with the other housemates.
It is going to be a night of cheers and jeers!
It is going to be a night of cheers and jeers!

From Semenyih with love
It is the time of the year when A-level graduates scout for their preferred universities from every corner of the globe and goodbye wishes are inevitable.
While a few of my friends have the privilege to further their tertiary educations in overseas, I've beginning to accustom to life at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. A piquant and sleepy town Semenyih may seem, but that was changed forever after the construction of a world-class beater in the University of Nottingham on our shores.
Checked into my new home precisely a week ago and I got to say the past week was really a brand-new experience. For never in my entire life had I lived alone outside the confines of my home. A new beginning, so to speak as I start adapting to life after college, slowing blending myself in the yet-to-begin university life.
I don't know about others but I really rejoice in the fact that I'm living off-campus. Some of you might wonder what on Earth is wrong with me for opting to live miles away from the campus especially as a 1st-year student whose sense of direction, knowledge and whatever issues related to the university are still at infancy rate. But I have strong points to prove to my doubters.
1. My place of stay is merely a 5-mins walk from the campus (depending on my speed, of course)
2. I have the entire room to myself, SAY NO to SHARING.
3. I have an oversize toilet to myself (some say my toilet is bigger than my room) -.-'
4. I would be able to sleep without sweating ( air-cond, what else? )
5. I have the company of my best friends
Perfect place to stay, you got it. No worries, No complaints, No dissatisfaction.
Registered myself to participate in the Freshers' Week 2011 designed to make new students feel more at home. Sad to say that none of my friends will join in the fray in the flurry of exciting activities ranging from Treasure Hunt, bowling to Barbeque dinner. However I have no reason to be downbeat as making new friends is the primary reason for me to take part in this event. I should be making many new friends, I hope. That's the fun of the game! :)
Have been accessing the sports complex on numerous occasions for badminton and gym. I'll start making full use of the swimming pool soon. Afterall, I did not have much opportunity to indulge in sports when I was studying A-Levels so I shall make up for lost time.
On another note, life away from home is different. You just have to get used to it sooner rather than later and I'm elated to say that I've had a good grip of it.
Classes commence tomorrow and rest assured, dust will start to settle on this beloved blog of mine! I promise to organise my time wisely in order to spend time updating my blog but then again it will not be anytime in the near future. A month later, perhaps?
One interesting story to share: A stray dog intruded the house the other day and from his bizarre behavioural actions, I'm afraid he is here to stay, for he had followed me twice to university. Shocking, but true. Sticking to me like glue to paper, by the looks of it, Chi the Run (the dog) is completely prepared to live the rest of his life addressing me as his master, and I'm running out of ideas to send him back to Mars.
Don't drive me up the wall, Chi the Run!
Urgent help needed. :X

Don't Drive Them To The Wall
Many people think it is natural
That parents place their dreams onto their children.
But there are also complications with this idea.
In their honesty and purity,
Children may strive to try and achieve their parent's ideals.
But it is a competitive world.
Somewhere along the way,
They will discover their limitations
And, like being shot down from the sky,
They will fall, feel hurt and become disillusioned.
Parents, though,can be forgetful.
They have either forgotten
The countless mistakes, failures and the sense of inferiority
That lies in the shadows of their small successes
Or are holding back from sharing them.
Also, mothers may be pushing their children
For the purpose of gaining their husband's appreciation and love.
What is impure will not stay submerged for long.
Should parents put too many expectations on their children,
The children will leave their parents
In order to save themselves.
They do not want to carry their parent's burden.
To not overwhelm them is also an expression of love,
And an opportunity for parents to self-reflect.

Update of recent events
I know I have been pretty much at fault for abandoning my beloved blog for quite a few weeks but kudos to those who have been patient enough to stand by me.
An assortment of events took place in the course of the past few weeks, most notably was the release of my A-Levels results. I can confidently swear to God and Heavens that the eve of the CIE results release day was the most dreadful day of my life. A riot of spooky thoughts inundated my mind: What if I fell short of securing the results I had yearned for which would pave the way for entry into my favored university? What if I had fumbled awfully to low levels which would be unthinkable? What if I failed to score an A for Maths? What if....What if... Enough said, I was practically fumbling the entire day with my mind transfixed on the sole issue of RESULTS! I hardly slept that night, the situation was a millionth time more severe than the release of SPM results. Anxiety level was sky-high and fainting could really be a real deal. :O it was that serious!
Thankfully, my worst nightmare evaporated into thin air as my results were within expectation. However, they were certainly a far cry compared to the impeccable results obtained by some of my friends but I am generally satisfied since my prime concern was to meet the entry requirements and I succeeded in doing so. Talking about entry requirements, the thought of universities naturally sprouts to the inquisitive mind. Truth be told, my application to NTU in Singapore went askew and hence I had to opt for the 2nd option which is UoN Malaysia Campus. Dejection and disenchantment were obvious as I had spent a herculean effort, not to mention a sizable amount of time to ensure that all the necessary documents were imparted to the office within the stipulated date. Nevertheless, I knew that rejection was highly reasonable as I did not score a string of A's. But never in my wildest dreams had I imagined that my friends, who did exceptionally well were declined acceptance into NTU as well. This comes as a shocking revelation and I was completely baffled by it. The outcome is definitely unjustifiable. Come on, scoring 4A's is surely the passport to any top-notched universities in the world, let alone those in Singapore. So NTU's decision to omit the acceptance of such exemplary students remains a compounding enigma.
Studies aside, Datuk Lee Chong Wei's dramatic collapse against the much despicable Lin Dan was indeed a bitter pill to swallow. The manner in which Lin Dan celebrated his victory was a sight for sore eyes. Yes, we acknowledge the fact that you have an enviable physique but please show some courtesy on the court. You are a sheer disgrace to your country, do you know? I salute and hail the other Chinese winners as they never demean their opponents unlike our Mister Boastful here, who relishes in shaming his wounded prey. I strongly recommend that the World Badminton Association act swiftly on the limits of celebration: To curb the action of throwing shoes and making conceited salutations as a way to humiliate the loser.
To Lin Dan: You may be the world champion for the umpteenth time but you are NEVER a worthy winner!
And finally, there is a jolly good reason to be enthusiastic as we embrace the new Barclays Premier League season. I have been looking forward to the new season for ages now and I'm really excited at the prospect of feasting my eyes on the newly assembled Man Utd team which are teeming with sprightly youngsters!
Glory Glory Man Utd, a song all too familiar among footie fans. Hope this season ends blissfully for Man Utd as they set sail to retain the BPL crown and finally wake up from Barcelona's shadows and clinch the 4th Champions League trophy without a hitch! Not even the march of the dubiously expensive Man City could stop the relentless pursuit of glory by the Devils. U have my word :D
One particular team worth mentioning is Arsenal. Plagued by untimely and inopportune injuries to key players and losing their talented and influential talisman in the same week seem to suggest that the club is in deep crisis. Newspapers highlighted that this could potentially be Arsene Wenger's toughest season in his 15 years tenure and I can vouch for that. The situation couldn't be more worse than the visit of Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium this week as problems continue to wreck disaster for the Gunners. Still, I expect Arsenal to silence their critics by pulling off a convincing win against the improving Reds.
Van Persie to score a hat-trick and earn me mega points in the Fantasy Premier League! :D It is not all doom and gloom for Arsenal football club as they still have time to recruit a few big stars after pocketing 40million pounds from the sale of Fabregas. This is a time of revolution for the Gunners, a testing time of their resilence and loyal fans must do what they are supposed to do, stay faithful to the club in times of crisis!
Do I sound more like an Arsenal fan than a Man Utd fan now? Well, I feel the need to voice out against baseless criticism targeted at their French manager as many seem to overlook his vast contributions to the club. Yes, it is true that his team has not been successful in winning whatever trophies for the last 7 years but hey... they have been a beautiful team to watch, with mesmerizing passes that enchant fans; even myself! :) so please, the trophies will eventually arrive when the time comes and by then the barren run will long be forgotten. Fabregas's decision to backstab his manager is definitely unwise; such player doesn't deserve much credits at all. Not forgetting the Nasri transfer saga, which will likely to culminate in his departure to big spenders Man City. Nasri and Fabregas do not deserve praise and extol for their show of disregard to their manager, who has spent a wealth of time budding and nurturing them to be the future embodiment of his squad. It is undeniably N and F's loss. ( Just take Giggs and Scholes for example and you will be awash with guilt )
Enough rantings, I think it is time to take a rest and enjoy the pulsating match of the week: Arsenal v Liverpool. Another thrilling and heart-pumping 4-4 draw maybe? Nothing is impossible in footballing terms and I am expecting a high-scoring game with Arsenal emerging victorious. What's your bet?
Man Utd to beat Tottenham in the other match. De Gea seemed nervous in the 2 games he played but he should be commended for showing great courage to inherit the position held formerly by the legendary Van der Sar at the age of 20; one year my senior =.=
That's all for now.
